Ruvani de Silva (she/her) is a British Sri Lankan beverage and food writer based in Austin TX, with bylines including the Washington Post, Good Beer Hunting, Hop Culture, Texas Highways, Texas Monthly, Gastro Obscura, Modern Farmer, Punch, and VinePair. She writes about food and drink in Central Texas and beyond and is an advocate for DEI, sustainability and local businesses, covering subjects ranging from fire-brewing and foraged yeast to Texan Chartreuse and South Asian brewery owners.

She won The Michael Jackson Award for Beer Writer of the Year 2024 from the British Guild of Beer Writers, in addition to four gold awards at the 2024 ceremony in the categories of sustainability, diversity, communication, and travel. Furthermore, she won Best Travel Writing 2024 from the North American Guild of Beer Writers for the piece My Father, Lion Lager, & Home published in Final Gravity. 

Her speaking engagements have included the Smithsonian Food History Weekend’s Last Call and the Beer Culture Summit.
